Flor de Platano
A woodcut titled “Flor de Platano” or “The Plantain Flower”. Â Plantains, the starchy banana looklike, have a purplish hard flower that hangs from the tree. Â In the the leafy fronds behind and the flower, this woodcut shows a geometric reductionism that seems to echo Art Deco.
