Fruits Still Life
A larger still life painting by Jose Mejia Vides, ripe mangoes, limes, and pomegranates sit atop a blue-green cloth. Â The flattened style echoes some of Gauguin’s paintings of fruits, but with more vivid color. Â The mottled brushwork is explored further in later paintings by Jose Mejia Vides as he shifts towards acrylics.
